Drake Wedding At Grapevine on Saturday
A wedding of much interest here was thatsolemnized Saturday evening at 8:30 o'clock at Grapevine when Miss Kathlyn Drake of Dallas, formerly of Cleburne, became the bride of Mr. Dwight Epperson of Cleburne. Dr. Albert Venting, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated and read the ring ceremony.
The wedding took place at the home of the bride's uncle, Kyle F. Butler, and only a few intimate friends and relatives were in attendance.
The vows were pledged before an alter of purple iris and ferns and lighted by white tapers.
Miss Edna Butler, cousin of the bride, played the wedding music and Mrs. Montgomery of Dallas sang "I Love You Truly" as prenuptial solo.
The couple was attended by Miss Rose Marie Lothholz and Mr. J. T. Epperson, Jr., brother of the bride-groom, both of Cleburne. Miss Lothholz wore an attractive frock of ashes of roses satin and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Paul Smith of Cleburne.
Her dress was of white satin made with cowl neck and long tight fitting sleeves. her halo veil was held in place by a wreath of orange blossoms and she carried an arm bouquet of Easter lilies. Her slippers were of white.
Mrs. Kenneth Butler presided at the bride's book and Mrs. M. L. Brewster, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Homer Wicker of Cleburne cut the ring wedding cake the center of which was filled with Talismen roses.
The couple will reside at 6035 Velasco, Dallas. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. J. G. Drake of Dallas and is a graduate of Cleburne High School. The Bride-groom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Epperson of Cleburne is a graduate of the Cleburne High School also and is attending Texas Technological College, Lubbock.
