Edna Celeste Bryan

At age 16, Edna married Charles William King. They had four children but only one survived, Stephen King. Charles William King was the son of Stephen and Sara Dupree King. He died of measels on March 13, 1862 at a Confederate Army Camp at Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Rev. George Washington Butler, Jr. was chaplin in the army and a very close friend of Charles. He made George promise that when the war was over he would go by Teneha and find his wife and tell her what happened to him. This he did and they later married.
